What is Lumecca (IPL) Treatment?

• Lumecca is the most powerful IPL on the market. It requires less treatments than other devices (3-6 treatments compared to 4-8 treatments). 
• It has a higher pulse repetition rate and a larger area that can be treated at one time, therefore treatment is faster than other devices. 
• The tip of the device is made of sapphire which causes a strong cooling sensation and gets rid of the need for topical numbing.

You will need to avoid direct unprotected excessive sun exposure for 1 month prior to treatment. (wear your SPF!) The treated area must also be free of any tanning creams. With the purchase of your Lumecca package your provider will guide you through your included pre and post ZO skincare products.

The recovery time depends on several factors, including the specific skin concern being treated, the intensity of the treatment, and individual skin sensitivity. In general, immediate side effects such as redness and swelling typically subside within a few hours to a few days after the treatment.

Immediately after Lumecca IPL treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and a sensation similar to a mild sunburn in the treated areas. Some people may also notice temporary darkening of pigmented spots or freckles, which can flake off over the following days. 

It’s usually recommended to avoid applying makeup or skincare products immediately after Lumecca IPL treatment, especially if your skin is still sensitive or experiencing redness and swelling. Your skincare professional will provide specific instructions on when it’s safe to resume your regular skincare routine.

This may include avoiding direct sun exposure, swimming in chlorinated pools, using hot tubs or saunas, and rigorous exercise that could cause excessive sweating. Sun damage and complexion results can be seen a few days after the first treatment. The skin will continue to look more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Multiple sessions will improve final results. For facial vessels such as facial telangiectasias results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.
