What is Lumecca (IPL) Treatment?
Lumecca is the most powerful intense pulsed light (IPL) laser on the market to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. After just one use, patients notice significant improvements in the complexion and clarity of the skin. It is the treatment of choice for treating red/brown spots and sun damage. Since the IPL is attracted to color, it will help get rid of freckles, age spots, rosacea and facial veins.

You will need to avoid direct unprotected excessive sun exposure for 1 month prior to treatment. (wear your SPF!) The treated area must also be free of any tanning creams. With the purchase of your Lumecca package your provider will guide you through your included pre and post ZO skincare products.
The recovery time depends on several factors, including the specific skin concern being treated, the intensity of the treatment, and individual skin sensitivity. In general, immediate side effects such as redness and swelling typically subside within a few hours to a few days after the treatment.
Immediately after Lumecca IPL treatment, you may experience redness, swelling, and a sensation similar to a mild sunburn in the treated areas. Some people may also notice temporary darkening of pigmented spots or freckles, which can flake off over the following days.
It’s usually recommended to avoid applying makeup or skincare products immediately after Lumecca IPL treatment, especially if your skin is still sensitive or experiencing redness and swelling. Sun damage and complexion results can be seen a few days after the first treatment. The skin will continue to look more brilliant over time with most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Multiple sessions will improve final results. For facial vessels such as facial telangiectasias results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.
